Safety & how-to

Crackers are joyful when handled right. Here's a parent-grade guide for a safe, happy Diwali.

Do

  • Light crackers in an open, outdoor space, away from buildings and vehicles.
  • Keep a bucket of water and sand within reach.
  • Adults light all aerial and sound crackers; children only use kids-safe items under supervision.
  • Light one cracker at a time and step back immediately.
  • Wear cotton clothing; tie back long hair.

Don't

  • Never relight a dud — soak it in water and discard.
  • Never hold a lit cracker in your hand (except designated sparklers).
  • Never store crackers near heat, flames or electrical points.
  • Never let young children handle sound or aerial crackers.
  • Never light crackers indoors or on a balcony.

Storing safely

Keep crackers in a cool, dry place in their original packaging, away from heat, candles and lamps. Store out of children's reach.

Kids' handling

Choose our kids-safe range — pop-pops, ground spinners and sparklers — and keep an adult within arm's reach at all times.

If something burns

Cool the burn under running water for 10 minutes, cover loosely, and seek medical help for anything more than a minor surface burn.
